Imperial’s Schools STEMathon India 2026 is a STEM competition for secondary school students in India, delivered in collaboration with Imperial College London. The competition challenges teams of three students from Grades 10–12 to apply their STEM knowledge to address real-world issues aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

STEMathon brings together some of India’s brightest young minds, challenging them to apply their STEM learning to real-world issues. The programme inspires independent thinking, collective problem solving, and innovation rooted in science and technology.

Why Does It Matter?

STEMathon goes beyond traditional academic competitions by encouraging students to use science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to create meaningful solutions for global challenges. Participants gain hands-on experience in research, innovation, teamwork, and presentation skills—competencies that are highly valued by universities and employers worldwide.

Imperial College London, ranked second in the world by the QS World University Rankings 2026, stands among the world’s most prestigious universities, consistently ranked within the global top ten for its excellence in science, engineering, medicine, and business. Imperial has shaped fields from artificial intelligence and climate science to sustainable energy and healthcare innovation. Through the STEMathon, Imperial brings its world-class expertise to Indian classrooms, providing students with the opportunity to explore cutting-edge ideas and turn them into action.

Round 1 entries are now open, and schools are encouraged to register as many teams as they like. Whether you’re a budding engineer, scientist, coder, or problem-solver–this is your stage. The Imperial School STEMathon isn’t just another competition. It’s a national movement to shape young innovators who care about the world and have the skills to change it.
